No I didn't. I had no reason to, I'm not that kind of person.

Another important thing to remember: CLOSE DOORS BEHIND YOU, and if they're powered, CHECK IF THEY FUNCTION. If we wanted users to visit our areas, we wouldn't need doors at all. So please close them. I've also installed a one-way double door pressure plate at area 52. You now should only need to manually open doors when entering, and they should close behind you. The circuitry is right by the wheat farm on the second floor down, and due to space limits it has to be exposed, so try not to hit it.

I'll probably be installing more secure doors on our land as well.

Oh, and craftbook is on the server. So expect even more new technology. Razz

The Dwarfs - Some Place Safe - Page 2 Empty Faction Home

Post by Bike Man Thu May 12, 2011 6:58 pm

On the subject of a faction home:

There have been numerous complications in actually getting it fully built. For example, even though we claimed land in the area first, a neighboring faction gobbled up land, cutting off expansion to one side. It's come to my attention that a design should be settled on, so I'll present a few ideas. Feel free to contribute, and vote on what you want to build. After all, we can let the other factions build a generic wall around a bunch of generic buildings, but we're Dwarfs. Very Happy

  • The Wayward Chunks, Style A: Excavate the desired area nearly down to bedrock, and cover it with glass if wished. Grow grass down there as well. Basically like the whole chunk sank to bedrock, and we built our city on it. Don't build anything above ground level, so that light will simply fall through normally. This is a very secure design, as we live in a box like Diamond but it'd look cooler.

  • The Wayward Chunks, Style B: Keep our current platform of grass, and re-arrange the land to fit into a nice square. Next, build 'the chunk' from the base to the ground: whatever you'd come across in a 16 by 16 area of land. It'd be made of smooth stone with some iron ore, fake lava and dungeons, ect to decorate it. Basically like the whole chunk was lifted off the ground, and we built on top of it.

  • The Giant Pyramid. Basically, the largest pyramid EVAR with stairs leading downward into the underground city. Fairly dwarf-ish, but with a desert theme.

I like all of the options. Would the Pyramid be like a Ziggurat with platforms for housing? If so, that'd be pretty col. If not, the dome to bedrock also sounds cool.

But we did already start on the platform we're on now...

Just so everyone knows, we're initiating construction of The Wayward Chunk. Once again, to clarify, the whole thing will look like a huge chunk of land rose out of the ground and we built on it.

How long have you played Minecraft?

I would really like to join you guys as the faction seems really mature and civilised.

How long have you played on TNW?
I have just joined however I have experience on other servers like this.
What would you say your short term and long term goals are?
My Short term goals are:
To Join a faction that has a nice community and good building projects
Make some new friends on Minecraft
My long term goals are:
To Create a very large building that will tower over the world in showing that the dwarfs are the best builders in the new world.
What are your strengths?
Building and designing
Where could you use improvement?
Battle

I think you would be Perfect for our faction but because of some recent events Id like to know If you'll be loyal for a while and not leave the dwarfs.

we had 3 of our members leave and in doing so another faction went ahead and claimed a lot of of our city land. We are forced to create a wall just to keep out the irksome intruders.
